Associate
Jacob Dougherty advises clients on a broad variety of matters involving nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, with a focus on corporate governance and federal and state tax issues.
Mr. Dougherty is a member of the American Bar Association (Taxation Section).
Mr. Dougherty was a research and teaching assistant for Professor Philip Hackney. He was also a co-author of “Special Committee Report” in the Harvard Forum on Corporate Governance (February 2024).
Mr. Doughterty is admitted to the bar in the State of New York.
Prior to joining Adler & Colvin, Mr. Dougherty was a corporate associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York City, where he advised international and domestic public and private companies on a variety of matters, including corporate governance, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to law school, Mr. Dougherty was the executive director of a historic preservation and community development organization and was named to the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s 2019 list of 40 Under 40: People Saving Places.
Outside of the office, Mr. Dougherty enjoys playing tennis, attending plays, and following
