Prior Experience

Prior to joining Adler & Colvin, Ms. Mittermaier practiced with several other law firms in the areas of transactional law, state and local tax law, and nonprofit law.

Professional Affiliations

Ms. Mittermaier is the past chair and a current member of the Advisory Board of the University of San Francisco's Institute for Nonprofit Organization Management. She is a past member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California's Taxation Section, and is also a past Chair of the Tax-Exempt Organizations Committee of the Taxation Section. She is a member of the Exempt Organization Committee, Tax Law Section, American Bar Association; and the Bar Association of San Francisco.

  • Ms. Mittermaier has contributed to various publications, including a guide to California Laws on Family Foundations (forthcoming) that will serve as a companion publication to the National Center for Family Philanthropy's book on forming a family foundation.

Speaking and Teaching

Ms. Mittermaier lectures regularly at law conferences and seminars. She has been a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco in the College of Professional Studies, teaching a course in the Master of Nonprofit Administration program.
